FAQ / Frequently Asked Questions

That is a very good question. If you have travelled around Australia you would be accustomed to seeing brown signs to depict places of interest. The concept of brown signs isn’t local to Australia and also adopted in other Countries in the world too.

Australia really has some beautiful places! Through touring Australia, it didn’t take long to coin the “brown signs” with the “wonders” and thus wanted to convey this within the logo. The “wonders“.

The logo was designed by Kenneth Springer and Ela S. and the goal was to show the winding road as one would see through the travels to the Country side. The “wonders” is depicted with the rising sun, showing mother Earth as the overlay, on top of the brown sign – aka brown sign wonders!

To maintain full disclosures, the founder of brownSignWONDERS who is Kenneth Springer, is also the founder of snapWONDERS & Hueyify.

brownSignWONDERS was founded and formed before snapWONDERS was formed. However, before the vision of brownSignWONDERS could be materialised, it seemed that deep digital media analysis was required. Hence, snapWONDERS was founded to provide the technology that would eventually power brownSignWONDERS.

Beautiful places located at https://snapwonders.com/beautiful-places will eventually be removed and located as part of the brownSignWONDERS offerings.

The next release of brownSignWONDERS will be launched during 2023. Stay tuned for the details!

The brownSignWONDERS banner photos were all taken by Ela S. at various dates and copyrights remain with Ela @ brownSignWONDERS. The photos feature various locations around Australia.

brownSignWONDERS was founded based on many reasons. However, the extract from the snapWONDERS website summarises it well:

snapWONDERS™ was founded by Kenneth Springer in 2018 whilst working on another project Hueyify® and contemplating about using metadata to help solve the problem of accessibility. The amount of metadata exposed within everyday photos left Kenneth pondering about privacy concerns in the realm of photo sharing on social media and online.

Furthermore, due to personal reasons and health considerations Kenneth reconnected with hiking and nature with Ela S. While exploring Australia chasing all the brown signs to see the WONDERS, he then found that there was no easy way to story tell the travels in a beautiful way. This formed the start on the concept on brownSignWONDERS.

You can see some of the beautiful photos from Australia displayed throughout snapWONDERS website on the home, contact us, about us, signup and login pages. These photos were taken by Ela using various different cameras (attribution details and profile coming soon – stay tuned).

The combination of these factors and researching further Kenneth found there is nothing on the market that offers what he had in mind. As a result — snapWONDERS was formed to fill this void.

This is because we believe that beautiful photos taken on our travels should be shared via beautiful storytelling and shared in a way that is safe, respecting privacy, accessibility and copyrights
